About PHCRED
PHCRED is a collaborative partnership in Western Australia comprising
The University of Western Australia
University of Notre Dame Australia, and
Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health.
The Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing is investing in research to ensure that primary health care is of the highest quality, based on sound evidence, and supported by well informed policy.
All PHCRED partners are committed to supporting the development of individual research projects by primary health care practitioners. This includes providing:
- Fellowships and bursaries to fund time away from practice to undertake http://www.phcredwa.org.au/go/events/fellowships-and-bursaries
- Individual support and access to research mentors
- Access to workshops and seminars on research related topics such as research methodology, project design, report writing, and publication
- Assistance with grant writing

PHCRED partners also support organisations, such as Divisions of General Practice and Western Australian General Practice Education and Training, to promote and develop research capacity. This includes assistance or advice relating to:
- Research or Evaluation Design
Project Management
Grant Writing
PHCRED, in conjunction with RACGP hold seminar series. In 2009 the series is titled 'Around the World'. These eduational workshops are based on applying best evidence in the clinical practice. Workshops include special presentations based on a selected country each evening, presentations from medical speacialists and case based discussions.
