PHCRED Research Capacity Building Initiative
The Research Capacity Building Initiative is an integral component of the overall PHCRED strategy and provides those working the area of primary health care with a range of support to improve their research skills. Practical support may include fellowships or bursaries being awarded, mentoring by skilled researchers, and, access to a variety of workshops relevant to different aspects of the research process.
Fellowships and bursaries provide subsidised time for individuals away from their normal duties to either conduct research and analysis or write up the results of their activities. Research projects undertaken by fellowship and bursary recipients are presented at the annual state conference held in October/November each year.
Fellowships and bursaries are advertised annually. Details and application forms are available here
